Are menstruation cups comfortable?

I have been considering switching to these as they are more environmentally friendly. I currently use a mix of tampons and panty-liners. I am not sure if this would work for me though or not. I have heard of women having issues with them spilling or leaking. I can't have this happen when I am out and about as I wear a lot of lighter colors. I am more concerned about how comfortable they are though. Does anyone use them here? How do they feel?

A friend of mine uses one. She said the first time using it, it felt odd. Not uncomfortable, just not "right". After a few days, she had gotten used to it though. She sleeps with pads and uses her cups during the day. I would imagine this depends on the size you use and how straight they are inserted as I have had tampons feel rather uncomfortable if they were at a weird angle.

I have only ever used one once and I didn't like how it felt when I would go from a sitting to a standing position. I would get a "pop" sensation from the cup unbending. I wore it for around 5 hours and the thing that was hardest for me was keeping it in a comfortable position and the fact that I had to wash it in a bathroom. It is not ideal for public bathrooms, you will get some looks and it is not very hygienic in those places!

Yes! They can feel a bit weird when you start using them but tampons are the same way! It is a matter of putting it in properly. I have a few different ones. They come in a few different shapes and sizes so just try different options. It is worth it. I no longer have to spend money on tampons, pads, and other things.
