Managing gas pains?

I don't have issues with cramps so much as I do gas pain. Usually a day or two before my period, I am very bloated. I retain a lot of water, I feel full, and I am very gassy. I will feel the pain in my lower back at times from it. Massaging helps but I am not always able to use that to ease the pains. Are there other ways of managing hormonal gas pains?

I know this sounds counterproductive because of the bloating but have you tried drinking more water? I had issues with gas for a few years and when I started trying to lose weight and switched to only drinking water, I noticed it was a non-issue. My doctor confirmed that even mild dehydration can cause gas and bloating issues during a period.

Do you have a massage pillow or chair you could use? I find any time I have gas pains, they can be fixed with just 10 to 20 minutes of a massage. If you have a partner willing to try it for you next time you have the pains, give it a go! Another option is a hot bath soak in Epsom salt.

Usually, heat helps me but when that doesn't do the trick, I will fast. If you are healthy enough to fast, it can help ease both gas and cramp pain. Raspberry leaf tea is said to help with bloat, gas, and cramps as well.
