Is a HPV vaccine necessary for everyone?

Human Papillomavirus seems incredibly rare and while it can be a very severe disease that can lead to cancer, for most people their bodies get rid of the virus easily. It seems like it only causes issues for a small number of women and an even smaller number of men. Unless you plan on sleeping around or having a lot of partners, is it really necessary?

I don't think it is. I don't think every vaccine is necessary for everyone. This is something that should be between each person and their doctor. I know a lot of people blindly trust vaccination and believe every vaccine is necessary but I have been told otherwise by several doctors. Just follow what your doc says on the matter.

I agree with the above response, you want to talk to your doctor. I know some parents get this for their boys and girls because the virus can affect both. While it is a severe issue, it is rare so I guess there is a lot to consider.

No, most vaccines aren't like bloomingdaisy said.
This is the kind of topic that should be between you and your doctor. A lot of people online have different opinions. Some feel everyone should be vaccinated with everything, others are selective, and then some just plain don't trust them so they don't do any vaccination. It is your child though, so that is fully up to you as their mother. |
