I know not everyone refers to it as "popping the cherry" because it is just the hymen or some kind of tissue stretching. I would assume this is to prepare for birth since you can now become pregnant? Either way, is bleeding after sex a sign that this has happened? Is there a direct connection to virginity? Sorry about all the questions I have been asking on here, I just don't know who else to ask!

It can be but not always. The hymen will stretch when it needs to and sometimes this happens at random. Some girls like to "pop it" themselves using a finger or tampon, other's just don't worry about it and let it happen when it does.

It is kind of a myth that sex is needed for this to happen. Even without forcing it or using tampons, it will happen on its own. It is best to let this be the way it happens. If you happen to have sex prior to it breaking and stretching, it could bleed but it doesn't always bleed a lot.
