Do women who have a hysterectomy skip the change?

I know someone who had one done when she was in her mid 40s and she never seems to have gone through menopause. 

I am wondering if this actually prevents the process from happening somehow. I meant to ask my doctor and it slipped my mind.

This depends on her age. Older women who have already started going through the change will likely skip the end of it where it gets the worst whereas younger women are more likely to still experience the changes.
