Are STDs caught easier by women vs men?

Someone I was talking to recently said that STDs are far more common among women because they can catch them easier than men can. Is this true?


I can't seem to find any information on this to actually fact-check it.

I think this comes down to women being affected differently. Men tend to have outward symptoms that don't affect their reproductive capabilities where an STD left untreated in a woman can lead to complete infertility.

RedRose is correct, women tend to have worse symptoms and internal issues when it comes to STDs making them more impactful and dangerous for women vs men. Also, STDs easily make their way inside of women whereas it is harder for this to happen in men.
