Can birth control really help balance hormones?
#1
Some doctors swear by this and others are sceptial. I am already going through menopause but a friend had mentioned that her doctor wants her to try birth control for her menopause. It just seems a bit strange and almost unsafe to me. Is there any proof this actually helps more mature women?

It helped a friend of mine. She was struggling when she was in her late teens to keep a steady menstrual cycle. Her doctor started her on oral birth control (I can't remember the name of them) and it helped regulate everything. She only took it for about 2 years and stopped. The reason was due to weight gain but her cycles seemed to be healthy so her doctor said it was fine if she stopped.

There are all sorts of birth control options these days when it comes to the pill. I think it is something you would want to talk over with a doctor. I have heard some help some women while others don't. I think some of them are marketed specifically for hormonal balance as well.
