Depression after miscarriage?

My friend has not been the same since having a miscarriage. I feel like she might be depressed but I don't know how to ask or talk to her about it because I am afraid of upsetting her. Is this something that can happen after a miscarriage? If so, how do you talk to someone who is grieving their loss about it?

Yea, it is actually common. I know several women who have gone through this. Some even feel this after having abortions. It has to do with hormones. Some say that certain foods and minerals can help but it depends on the woman's body. Maybe it would be worth getting her hormone levels checked. I think the easiest way to talk to someone going through this is to assure them it was not their fault.

Some women bounce back after a few weeks but others can take months. It helps to have a social circle of caring friends/family in these times. Also, keeping busy and focusing on other things can help lessen the pain.
