Did you know this was a feminist movement?
#1
I learned something I thought was worth sharing for those curious about free bleeding.

It was a movement that started in the 1970s as a response to a growing issue with TSS (Toxic Shock Syndrom). TSS is a rare blood infection and certain women are predisposed to so using a tampon increases their risk of developing it. While the movement is almost 50 years old, it has only recently begun to pick up traction on a larger scale with feminists and younger women alike.

Yup! I only learned about it a few years ago and come to find someone I work with has been doing it since the late '90s. She said she feels more confident and less bothered about her monthly cycle. Even her cramps stopped. I think the entire concept is amazing and well worth trying!

This is how I learned about it. I overheard a feminist group discussing it at a local coffee shop. They were getting drinks to take to the march we have each year. I am not a feminist but I can respect their cause and what they do. That being said, I tried free bleeding for a few cycles and it just wasn't for me.
